The Evil Eye is believed to be ast by a malevolent, envious, or admiring gaze, causing misfortune or injury (usually unintentionally) to the afflicted. The earliest versions of the eye amulets date back to 3,300 BC and were excavated in Tell Brak, one of the oldest cities of Mesopotamia, or modern day Syria.
